VARSITYBOOKS DOT COM
It was June 1998 and we received a phone call from Ken Eisner (marketing director) of VarsityBooks.com. Through the grapevine, he’d heard of our collegiate advertising company, On Campus Promotions, Inc. and commissioned us to make them the “big books” on-campus. That we did! By the spring of 2000, our company had distributed over 1 ½ million posters, flyers, and over-sized postcards bearing the VB (Varsity Books) logo.
We smile every-time we think about the distribution feats we accomplished. Between the semesters, Fall ’98, and Spring ’00 our company represented VB. The network of veteran reps, numbering less than 100 (not 1,500 college students) covered over 1,500 campuses across the country during the first two-three weeks of each new semester. According to MediaMetrix, www.varsitybooks.com had over 645,000 unique visits in August 1999. It was one of the most challenging projects due to the limited text book buying time frame, but we thrived under the pressure.
Since that time, we have dealt with dozens of dot com companies and the one thing that’s set VarsityBooks apart from all the others is that they had the drive to go all the way and they also had On Campus Promotions as a vehicle.

FACT: Our first year with On CAMPUS resulted in an over 20% increase in program inquiries that came from posters. In each subsequent year we have experienced significant increases in our postering results.
